BUILDING EXPLOSION

This afternoon Company 4 was alerted to the Holiday park section on Plum Boro for a reported house explosion with working fires and multiple injuries. Engine 41 arrived to assist units on-scene at a residential structure that was completely demolished along with damage to over a dozen other residences in the area. Crews went to work with Plum fire units to assist in extinguishments of fires and searching for additional victims inside the debris. EMS crews from Company 4 arrived and staged while EMS units already on-scene were tending to two patients, one of which became a fatality. Truck 5 was then added to the assignment to assist with RIT operations onscene. Crews isolated several hotspots and assisted Plum units for over two hours before returning to service.
