This morning Truck 4 was alerted to Penn Center Boulevard for a report of smoke in the building at a residential high rise. Upon calling en-route crews were updated by County of multiple calls reporting heavy smoke on the 10th floor and PD advising of an active fire in one of the apartments. Truck 4 arrived behind Wilkins companies and staged on side 3 while laddering the building to the fire room. T4 crews made their way to the 10th floor and began search and vent operations while crews from Wilkins and Churchill worked on fire suppression of the apartment in question. Crews were able to isolate the incident fairly quickly and checked for extension which proved negative. EMS on-scene also tended to multiple patients on the ground floor all of which refused treatment. Crews were out about three hours during the incident.
