Company 4 was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a residence on Second Street in Pitcairn today. Truck 4 arrived first on the scene with heavy smoke from division 3 of a 2 1/2 story single family residential structure. 230E-1 laid a supply line to side A and T194 took a position on Highland Avenue for potential elevated master stream operations. Crews from 230E-1 & T194 commenced primary investigation & stretched attack lines through the alpha side main entrance. 229E & 306E-1 secured a secondary 5" water supply to the Charlie side, placed an exposure attack stream to the bravo exposure impinging on the eaves & then assisted with interior operations. 229E crews also check for interior exposure on the bravo exposure building, which proved negative. After reports of all persons being accounted for, a second alarm was struck for manpower according to Pitcairn FD pre-designated run cards bringing Truck 283 & Trafford (RIT). At one point during the incident, all interior crews were removed from the structure for some exterior fire extinguishment of the dormers on division 3. After exterior water streams extinguished most of the visible fire, overhaul & extinguishment crews assigned to division 3 for final overhaul. Pitcairn EMS & Murrysville Rehab unit provided EMS & Rehab support for the incident.
