This evening while attending Company drill, units where alerted to a
possible residential apartment fire in the first due. C41 and E42 arrived
with a moderate smoke condition emitting from the central entrance of a
multi-residential. E42 secured its own water supply and deployed the 350'
long-line knocking down the involved kitchen and performing a primary
search within minutes. T4 and T5 crews laddered the building and used
several fans to ventilate the effected apartments. The occupant of the
apartment of origin suffered a laceration while trying to gain access to
fire extinguisher. He was treated on cene and released. An occupant of
another apartment was transported to the hospital by Medic 49 for smoke
inhalation. Crews remained on scene approximately 90 minutes.
