MCI 480 East is a county OST trailer that is housed and maintained by Monroeville VFC # 4. This trailer has the capability for treating 150 patients @ a mass casualty incident. Some of the units features are as follows.

  • Multiple Cases of Basic Life Support Supplies

Operations Support Team (OST)
The EMS Operations Support Team was established to plan and mitigate EMS responses that exceed the capabilities of local services. The team functions in a support role for local responders and county Emergency Management personnel.
The EMS operations Support Team is comprised of the following:
>Local paramedic and EMT’s
>Mass Care specialists
>County EMS officials
>Events Planning specialists
>Haz-Mat medical care specialists
>EMS field supervisors
>Responders with other specialized training

MISSION OBJECTIVES
1. Provide Command Support on major incidents at the behest of local services.
2. Provide operational support when requested by local responders.
3. Maintain a list of available regional resources.
4. Provide medical coverage for County Haz-Mat Teams.
5. Provide Rehab for local agencies during major incidents.
6. Foster positive networking and sharing of information between local agencies.
7. Develop and present a training program for use in EMT / Paramedic courses.
8. Assist in Planning for large scale event postings.
9. Assist with Staffing, on request, for large scale event postings.


ACCOMPLISHMENTS

-Completed the modification of the donated unit, equipping it with communications and medical
equipment.
- Obtained Department of Health ALS Licensure
- With the assistance of local services placed in service the Main OST unit and purchased 3 equipment trailers for use by local EMS agencies
- Established Medical Command for team operations
- Established a team capable of responding consisting of representatives from 26 local EMS services
- Placed in-service donated equipment.
- Placed in-service the 3 equipment trailers
- Placed in-service MCU 2 and MCU 3
- Placed in-service HM480 (Haz-Mat Support Trailer)
