Firefighter Residency Program
Roughly
30 years ago, Monroeville Fire Department
#4 (one of five stations in the municipality)
established a “Firefighter Residency Program”
to accommodate for the rapidly changing
area in which we are located. Our firefighter
residency program was established for
students who are either majoring in a
Fire Science or Paramedic field of study
through one of the local colleges.
Station
4 is located at 4370 Northern Pike in
Monroeville, Pennsylvania, which is only
a short drive from the City of Pittsburgh
and many of Western PA's colleges and
universities. This
program is an excellent opportunity for
students to reduce the cost of education. If you would like info on proximity
to a specific school, we would be glad
to help you.

Committee. First consideration to
new applicants will be given to personnel
with previous fire department / EMS experience.
However, applicants without previous experience
will also be considered. In return for
being part of the program, applicants
will be expected to perform numerous station
duties in addition to responding to Fire
and EMS calls while in the program (to
offset the cost of housing). The residency
program is not only limited to college
students, any Fire / EMS person is encouraged
to apply. Applicants of this program must
